「私のこの一頭」（※）という宿題が出されて、最初に提示された締め切りもとうに過ぎた。みすぼらしい自分の標本箱を覗きこんでは、ため息をつくばかり。久々に晴れた秋空も恨めしく、出張続きの鬱鬱とした日々を、2015年シルバーウィークも過ごしていた。気晴らしに、日本蝶類学会から連休初日に YouTube にアップロードされたビデオhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?t=28&v=4zkKEoCHny0を見て、驚愕する。
届いたまま封を切ってもいなかった最新号 Butterflies 69 の pp. 39-47 にある関連記事 Bricolage of a portable motor-driven decoy apparatus to lure butterflies を直ちに斜め読み、「○○さんからもらったチョコレートがあったじゃないか！」と膝を打つ。来シーズンこそは「私のこの一頭」を採るためのデコイ第1号が、これだ。性別は不詳。第2号、第3号・・・も作らねば。Rain or shine, there are things to do.
※現在、当会では会員から自慢の1頭、思い出の1頭、あるいは忘れ得ぬ1枚の写真などなどを募集して、一冊の記念出版物にまとめる事業を継続中。

先日の記事で公開したユニークな「チョウチョウホイホイ」の動画、Youtubeに公開してから好評を博しているようである。このほど研究チームのリーダーである高崎浩幸氏からブログ用に本記事を投稿いただいた。多くのチョウを呼び寄せる、効果的なDecoy作成に余念がない様子がよく伝わってきて楽しい。

Submission of an assigned article manuscript with a specimen photo titled "My choicest butterfly" has been long overdue. I looked into my poor specimen collection boxes, and sighed. The blue autumnal sky after a long series of rainy days gave nothing but addition to the gloom of a series of business trips assinged for the Silver Week holidays in 2015. For a pastime, I watched a video which BSJ-T had uploaded on the first day of the holidays in YouTube

I was appalled, and immediately skimmed through the related article "Bricolage of a portable motor-driven decoy apparatus to lure butterflies" in the latest issue of Butterflies, 69, left untouched for weeks, on pp. 39-47. I tapped my lap, and whispered to myself, "There is the chocolate which XX gave me!" This is it, Decoy No. 1, sex unknown, to lure "My Choicest Butterfly" in the next season! I have to make No. 2, No. 3,.... Rain or shine, there are things to do.
