大きなアゲハと小さなセセリ

笑っちゃうほど太い胴体。ほとんどスズメガとしか思えません。幼虫はどんだけ太いのでしょうか。ついでにこれが♂。♀ はさらに大きいといいます。アゲハチョウが大型蝶、セセリチョウが小型蝶のそれぞれ代名詞ですが、この写真では完全に逆転した世界が展開しております。（上原二郎コレクションより）

Large skipper and small swallowtail

Look at the skipper (left). Its extraordinary huge body is not like butterfly's but reminds Sphingidae. It is hard to imagine how big the larva of this skipper is. Moreover this figured one is male, so female is said to be bigger than this. Usually swallowtail butterflies represent large butterflies and conversely skippers represent small and tiny ones. But the rule is not always right.
